Michael currently serves as Assistant Vice President and Investment Officer of the Coral Gables Trust Company.  Michael is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner which he completed at The University of Miami.  Michael is a graduate from The University of Miami with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and double minors in Economics and Business Administration.  He successfully completed the challenging Level 1 exam for the Chartered Financial Analyst professional designation.  Unger has been appointed to the Board of Financial Planning Association (FPA) of Miami and serves as Co-Chair of Membership and Networking, as well as Board Secretary.  As a new member of the board, Unger is part of a new generation of financial planners who are dedicated to participating in elevating the profession.  He is active with the University of Miami’s Citizens Board and the Canes Community Programming Committee. 

Michael worked for a boutique investment firm in South Florida, providing comprehensive financial planning and investment management for high-net-worth clients, retirement plan sponsors, and retirement plan participants.  Michael’s scope of responsibilities at the Coral Gables Trust Company includes assisting the CIO in the research process to properly evaluate and recommend to the Investment Committee and clients an optimum asset allocation.  He aides in monitoring client portfolio’s and reviewing their best-in-breed investment managers.  Michael very much enjoys working closely with his clients and engaging in the financial planning process to better assist them with achieving their goals.
