Donald A. Kress Joins Coral Gables Trust Company
CORAL GABLES, Fla. (Nov. 23, 2015) – Coral Gables Trust Company ("CGTC") is pleased to announce that Mr. Donald A. Kress has joined the firm as a Senior Vice President and Director. He has also assumed the role of Chairman of the Trust Administrative Committee.
Mr. Kress joins Coral Gables Trust with over 44 years of experience in the financial services industry, specializing in trust administration and income, gift and estate tax planning. Mr. Kress was most recently with The Northern Trust Company in Miami for 16 years. Prior to joining Northern Trust, he managed various teams of trust and investment professionals for First Chicago Bank in Chicago for approximately 12 years; and was Associate General Counsel of Miami Corporation, a private holding company based in Chicago, previous to his First Chicago experience.
Mr. Kress earned an A.B. in English Literature from Dartmouth College in 1967 and a JD from The University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1971; and he also holds a CIMA® designation. Mr. Kress is a member of the Board of Directors and Vice President of the Estate Planning Council of Greater Miami and is a member of the University of Miami Estate and Gift Planning Advisory Board. He is a member of the faculty of the Florida Trust Schools and was on the board and faculty of the American Bankers Association National Trust School, where he taught courses in trust administration for eight years ending in 2002. He is a member of the Board of Directors of The Vizcayans and serves as treasurer, and is also a trustee of the Vizcaya Museum & Gardens Trust. In addition, he is a committee member of Miami’s Leave A Legacy program (which is a program of the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning), and a member of the Board of Directors and Vice President of the Peacock Foundation. Mr. Kress has been admitted to the practice of law in the states of Illinois, Nebraska and New York.
