John W. Harris serves as Managing Director and Chief Wealth Advisor at The Coral Gables Trust Company. He brings over 35 years of experience in wealth and investment management, trust services, private banking, commercial lending, and financial and estate planning in South Florida. He has held key leadership roles throughout his career. At Northern Trust Bank, he served as Senior Vice President, Private Banking Manager, and Senior Lender. He also worked as First Vice President and Countywide Group Manager at SunTrust Bank.
John advises affluent individuals, high-net-worth families, foundations, and institutions. In addition to his advisory work, John is active in several professional organizations. He serves on the boards of the Miami Chapter of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and the Miami Financial Planning Association. In past roles, he led both the Miami Estate Planning Council and the Broward Estate Planning Council as President. His ongoing involvement with The Florida Bar includes participation in the Real Property, Tax, and Elder Law sections. Additionally, he contributes to the Coral Gables/South Dade Estate Planning Council. In 2024, Marquis Who’s Who in America recognized John for his professional contributions.
John’s commitments extend to community and philanthropic organizations. He serves on the boards of the Coral Gables Community Foundation and the University of Miami Citizens Board. He also supports the Planned Giving Advisory Board and contributes to the United Way of Miami-Dade County as part of its Professional Advisor Committee. Additionally, he sits on the board of Whispering Manes Therapeutic Riding Center.
