John W. Harris serves as Managing Director and Chief Wealth Advisor at The Coral Gables Trust Company, bringing 35 years of expertise in wealth and investment management, trust services, private banking, commercial lending, and financial and estate planning in South Florida. His distinguished career includes senior leadership roles such as Senior Vice President, Private Banking Manager and Senior Lender at Northern Trust Bank as well as First Vice President and Countywide Group Manager at SunTrust Bank.
John has worked extensively with affluent individuals, high-net-worth families, foundations and institutions fostering a collaborative, value-driven approach. He excels at building strategic partnerships with clients and their advisors, ensuring collective efforts align seamlessly with clients’ financial goals.
His professional affiliations are extensive and include board memberships with The Miami Chapter of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and the Miami Financial Planning association. He is a former President of both The Miami Estate Planning Council and The Broward Estate Planning Council. Additionally, John is actively involved with several sections of the Florida Bar, including Real Property, Tax, and Elder Law, and is a current member of the Coral Gables/South Dade Estate Planning Council. John’s commitments extend to community and philanthropic organizations. He serves on the boards of the Coral Gables Community Foundation and the University of Miami Citizens Board, where he also supports the Planned Giving Advisory Board.
